What's happening this week
Words for the week: 0 (planned time off)
Current workout: 10 Rounds by Beachbody
What I’m reading: Forest of Ruin by Kelley Armstrong (Book Three of the Age of Legends trilogy). I finished Book Two, Empire of Night, a few days ago.
Aaaaaa-choo!
It’s been a bit of a “bleh” week. Between allergies hitting hard and adjusting to some recent life changes, I haven’t been as productive as I’d hoped. But “bleh” doesn’t mean “bad”—it’s just a time to recalibrate, even if the forward momentum slows for a bit.
The allergies put a brief pause on my workout plans, but I’ve officially kicked off 10 Rounds now, and it feels great to get back into a routine. The cooler weather is also making it easier to get outside, and I’m looking forward to getting back to daily walks with my dogs. Nothing quite like a brisk walk on a crisp morning with happy pups by my side. Fall walks are a great reset button, and it’s just what I need to get my energy back on track.
Break from writing for a week or two
On the non-writing front, I’m working through preparations for an upcoming move in the next couple of months. There’s a lot of planning that goes into it, but I’m chipping away one step at a time. I decided to take a planned break from writing this week to focus on beta reading for a couple of other authors. I’m finding the process refreshing, and it’s a good reminder of the joy of reading for the love of story and connecting with other writers’ journeys. Still, I can feel the itch to get back to my own work—I’m looking forward to returning to Grey & White with fresh eyes.
Before I jump back into the novel, though, I have a short story planned—a freebie for everyone who signs up for the newsletter. I’m excited to share it as a little taste of the Grey & White world and hope to finish it soon. Here’s hoping the next few days are slow and steady, a time to regain focus and settle back into the creative flow.
I'm sorry, I'm boring
Not a lot to report, and I know it's a bit bland. I'm committed to posting twice a week though, and no matter how boring my life is, I'm still going to make someone read about it.
I hope you all had a great week, and have a great one coming up. Here comes November!
